Helping to find equidistant restaurants
My friends and I always had trouble finding restaurants that were equidistant between all of us, and we talked about how it would be useful if there were an app that could do that. So, I built Midpoint, where you can enter one or more addresses and it returns restaurants from OpenTable and Google around the midpoint. Behind the scenes, the Google Geocode API is used to get the addresses’ latitudes/longitudes to claculate hte midpoint. The midpoint latitude/longitude is then passed into the Google Places API to return the list of nearby restaurants. It’s also passed into the OpenTable URL to show nearby restaurants in OpenTable.
